The property was fantastic and was a very enjoyable stay.
The property was fantastic and was a very enjoyable stay. Staff were exceptionally helpful and always on hand for assistance. Great location, not too busy.
There was a €100 per night charge that was not mentioned in any part of the booking. So you can imagine when staying for 5 days that is €500, which obviously you get back at the end of your stay but is very unexpected and should be made known so that people can plan accordingly

What was the highlight of Torre Melina, a Gran Meliá Hotel
Highly recommended but skip the breakfast.
Hotel is fantastic. Very comfortable, clean, spacious rooms and an extremely friendly staff always ready to help and remembering your breakfast preferences after the 1st day. It's not close to the center but close to where I needed to be and still only 10-15 minute taxi ride from the center. Taxis are always available in front of the hotel.
Even though the price for the hotel/room is reasonable I found the price for the breakfast extremely high. It is a very nice breakfast but 43 Euros is just too much. Also drinks at the bar are very pricey.

Nice stay but staff kindness could improve.
Very big and nice hotel. We did not have breakfast so we cannot have an opinion. It is convenient if you want to get out of the city in a fast way, since it is right at the entrance of Barcelona.
We had a bad experience in the swimming pool. The person in charge did not want to let us in because they were closing in 30 min and he was making up excuses for us not to enter. Besides, the inside pool has only two hammocks. To enter the spa you have to pay a fee of 25 Eur/person. This is something you do not expect after paying so much for a room. Floors of the bathroom look a bit old fashioned.
